Ongoing support

After the initial set-up, many lawyers and consultants do not offer ongoing support and systems.  Both Franchise Generator and EXB Legal offer ongoing support and have systems, processes and documents in place to support you and manage your documentation with franchisees and your ongoing needs. 

The role of franchisor does not stop after the franchisee has signed up and paid.  Franchise Generator can be available to support and advise you on an ongoing basis.  See the section on Ongoing Support under the Services tab.  In addition, EXB Legal can offer a fixed fee system for managing each franchisee's legal documents, and that fee can be built in to the upfront fee that you charge franchisees. 

With no surprises on fees or invoices, you can structure your system with peace of mind that it will be managed for you and that you can factor in the fees . 

One-stop Solution for all your franchising needs

 The team at Franchise Generator also operate a niche law firm, EXB Legal, managed by specialist franchise lawyer, Élise Billy.  You are welcome to use our services just as Franchise Generator (and we will work with your chosen franchise lawyers if different) or just EXB Legal (working with your chosen franchise consultants).

However, we are in the almost unique position of being able to offer you both services from the same team of people (EXB Legal is a separate business only for Solicitors Regulation Authority purposes).  Élise Billy has a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from INSEAD, one of the world's leading internaional business schools, but is also a highly qualified specialist franchise solicitor.  

This means that in addition to the Franchise Generator services, the same team can prepare all your legal documents, including confidentiality deeds, deposit agreements, the main franchise agreements and any other legal documents needed. 

Joined-up Services

By using both Franchise Generator and EXB Legal, you can save time and money.  You will not have to repeat meetings to explain your business to both your consultant and your lawyer.  More importantly, you can be sure that all your documents and systems accurately mirror each other.  Too often with separate service providers the legal agreements can set out different obligations, fees or benefits from what the consultant may have planned with the franchisor, or what is contained in the franchisee information pack, prospectus or other marketing material given to franchisees before they sign the legal agreement.  This can cause misunderstandings and difficulties with franchisees.

Some consultants say that they provide legal documents, but these will only ever be standard precedents that you will then have to pay a lawyer to tailor to your requirements.  You need to consider carefully any claim by a consultant to be able to provide your legal documents, because unless the consultant is a qualified lawyer, the documents are unlikely to be legally accurate or up-to-date, and the consultant will not be insured to provide legal services or advice and will not be regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority.  The team at Franchise Generator operate through EXB Legal for the legal documents, and EXB Legal is a fully regulated and registered law firm that is also a specialist affiliate member of the British Franchise Association.
